工作内容
Within delegated authority, the Political Affairs Officer will be responsible for the following duties: •Gathers, compiles and analyses information related to new threats and challenges, as well as trends in counter-terrorism, relevant to the implementation of resolutions 1373 (2001), 1624 (2005), 2178 (2014), 2354 (2017), S/RES/2396 (2017) and other Security Council resolutions, in the regions the most affected by terrorism; •Maintains up-to-date knowledge of events relating to political issues, in general, and relating in particular to counter-terrorism issues and measures undertaken by countries visited by CTED with a view to assessing the implementation of Security Council resolutions related to counter-terrorism; •Keeps abreast of latest trends and developments in the area of of counter-terrorism and international counter-terrorism cooperation and provides inputs on issues to senior officials and colleagues in the Office and elsewhere in relevant departments/offices of the UN Secretariat. •Provides technical and substantive back up in the implementation of CTED's mandate ; •Drafts analytical reports and overview documents on the work of CTED for submission to the Counter–Terrorism Committee, as well as statements of CTED senior management to the Committee; •Undertakes outreach and networking with international, regional and sub regional organizations, civil society, academia and other entities in conducting research and information gathering and in identifying good practices; Serves as focal point for engagement with relevant analytical and research units of UN bodies and agencies, and with global research network partners on counter-terrorism and counter-messaging matters; •Participates in CTED country visits and other missions aimed at assessing, facilitating and promoting the implementation of resolutions 1373 (2001), 1624 (2005) 2178 (2014) and 2354 (2017), S/RES/2396 (2017); •Participates in provision of secretariat services to Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee; Support the Committee in its efforts to work with relevant United Nations departments/offices and agencies, international, regional, and sub-regional organizations, and civil society organizations, including members of the global research network, to identify possible ways to measure the impact and effectiveness of countermessaging; •Prepares meetings of the ASG/Executive Director of CTED with officials from countries under CTED's purview. •Performs other related duties as required.

专业要求
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in political science, international relations, journalism, international economics, law, public administration, humanities or other related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
工作经验
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in political science, international relations, journalism, law, disarmament, security, conflict resolution or related area is required.
Experience in counter-terrorism matters is desirable.
语言要求
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. . Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage
