工作内容
Within delegated authority, the Public Information Officer may be responsible for the following duties:
- Manages the ongoing development and implementation of the Mechanism’s public information and outreach strategy aimed at promoting awareness, understanding and support for the Mechanism’s work;
- Coordinates and directs a team of public information personnel and/or supervise the work of junior officers on specific projects;
- Provides advice and expertise to Mechanism personnel on a range of public information and outreach issues, methods and approaches;
- Liaises and develops strategic partnerships with key interlocutors, including victims groups, civil society organisations and non-governmental organisations;
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of communication products for diverse audiences and in multiple languages, including the Mechanism’s website, periodic bulletin and social media accounts;
- Drafts communications products, including speeches and press statements, and reviews products prepared by other Mechanism personnel that explain the Mechanism’s mandate and activities and basic concepts on international law that are applicable;
- Evaluates the results and impact of the Mechanism’s public information and outreach activities;
- Monitors media reports and other public information sources for information regarding or relevant to the Mechanism, and produces internal analyses on such reports;
- Organizes media coverage and arranges for media contacts, briefings and interviews for the Head and other Mechanism personnel;
- Represents the Mechanism in meetings and conferences; fulfills speaking engagements and makes presentations to groups on the Mechanism’s mandate, the legal requirements for building case files, work methods and activities;
- Organizes outreach events involving victims groups, civil society organisations and non-governmental organisations.

专业要求
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in communication, law, journalism, international relations, public administration or related field is required. A first-level university degree in such fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
工作经验
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, public administration or related area is required.
Experience developing and implementing strategies for public information and outreach activities is required.
Public information experience in the context of criminal investigations or prosecutions is desirable.
Experience initiating and sustaining relationships with victims groups, civil society/ non-governmental organisations and journalists/media representatives is desirable.
Experience drafting communication products, speeches and press statements is desirable.
Experience managing website and social media content for an international organization is desirable.
Experience working for an international criminal justice institution or human rights organisation is desirable.
语言要求
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
